During the tuition it became clear Anna also has a talent to teach, Anna was well prepared with a check list and referred to that as required but also worked her lesson around the discussions we had on my thoughts for a particular piece of work I am wanting to evolve.
We discussed various stone types and their variances then selected a particular type that would be most apt for the style, colour and finish I am wanting. Anna then took me through the pertinent technique for that type of stone whilst giving a good general overview on other stone types. Anna led the lesson decisively however all through it I felt listened to and if I was uncertain about a facet of it Anna gently came back and worked through that uncertainty.

In both instances I have found Anna a very friendly and informative tutor. She has an appropriate artistic teaching style for sculpture and worked individually to help each of us both choose our medium and then translate our design on to the 3D form. She has an excellent working knowledge of tools and aptly gave us the appropriate safety information and demonstrations of the more advanced techniques she deploys on her own fine art sculpture. "During my first stone sculpture workshop, Anna Korver guided me to understand how o create a three-dimensional tactile object out of my sketched concept.
I have never carved on stone before and Anna Korver explained step-by-step to get my idea set onto 'stone' while understanding how to slowly create depth and form. My intricate concept on a small soap stone of a dance couple challenged me all the more while seeing my classmates working on huge oamaru stones with delight and precision.
After almost 12 weeks of keen carving little by little, while under the close supervision of Anna Korver, I finally finished my project. It's an exhilarating feeling to see the transformation with the amount of time spent to get it to completion.
Anna Korver is a highly recommendable tutor on sculpture with particular emphasis on stone. Her patience and love for teaching has helped myself and other students to get inspired in creating our own masterpiece."
